Hi all,
As Annuska mentioned-- several teams in last year's World Finals included accessible technology in their projects. Here are just a few examples of the innovative projects we saw in Seoul, South Korea last August. Last year's theme was "education." We hope you are inspired to create some amazing projects that relate to the 2008 theme of a sustainable enviroment!
"Is it acceptable that some children are excluded from school because of their handicap? No! The French Team's project Re-Educated mixes electronics and computer sciences to allow handicapped children to develop personally through learning with software that corresponds to their needs."

And here's some more information on Team InGest from Ireland. This team was also chosen for the Innovation Accelerator program! In their own words: "We are developing a software solution aimed at educating people in the skill of sign language. We feel such a solution would greatly benefit the deaf community by providing relatives, friends and colleagues of deaf people an accessible means of learning sign language."
