Calling All World Finalists!

World Finalist teams competing in St. Petersburg this July may be eligible for one of our high-profile awards. We’ll be announcing more awards soon . . .

AppCampus is a mobile accelerator program managed by Aalto University in Finland in partnership with Microsoft and Nokia. AppCampus awards funding to innovative, first-to-market Windows Phone ideas with a fresh approach on design elegance, superior quality and performance. In addition, AppCampus also provides training in mobile technology, design and usability, coaching and marketing support. We are seeking developers and entrepreneurs who have the ambition to be the next big thing in mobile. The winning team will be awarded €50,000 (split in 30% and 70% as described in the AppCampus award process) as well as airfare and housing accommodations to attend a four-week AppCampus training event in Finland.

 

Microsoft's DreamSpark program supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research. Students around the world can get access to the same developers tools professional coders use at no cost. Microsoft believes that, with the right software, students can chase their dreams, get ahead in school and truly achieve their full potential. Worldwide Finalist teams who developed a project showcasing how software can create new ways of learning and/or teaching are invited to apply for this award. You can reach more people and keep them more engaged with your app by integrating Facebook! All Worldwide Finalist teams using Facebook Login are invited to apply for this award and one winner will be selected from all entries based on the quality, creativity, and effectiveness of their integration with Facebook. The winner will receive $25,000 in Facebook Ad Credits to help you drive even greater distribution of your application.

 

KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is the world’s most popular chicken restaurant chain, specializing in freshly made chilled chicken. KFC is a brand that offers a unique product and all dishes are cooked from fresh chilled chicken, according to international standards of quality. Imagine Cup Worldwide Finalist teams with Kinect projects related to youth culture, healthy lifestyles, or nutrition are invited to apply for the KFC Innovation Award. At KFC Russia’s flagship restaurant in Moscow, a dynamic interactive kiosk with a 92” touchscreen lets people have fun and get their bodies moving with great apps – and your project could be one of them! The winning team will receive $10,000 and have their project featured at KFC in Moscow.

 

Offline computing will soon be a thing of the past in our big new connected planet. Russia’s largest internet service provider, Mail.Ru Group, is looking towards that future with optimism and excitement for the potential of what brilliant young innovators will achieve. If your Imagine Cup project embraces online communications and entertainment in useful, fun, or innovative ways you could win the Mail.Ru Group Connected Planet Award! Three teams have the opportunity to win. First Place Prize: $10,000. Second Place Prize: $5,000 and Third Place Prize: $3,000. All worldwide finalist teams will be eligible to compete. Around the world, women are facing challenges of economic inequality, access to technology and skills and other services and resources, gender-based violence, limited leadership and political participation, and other issues. We all must rise to these challenges and increase opportunities for girls and women. Microsoft and UN Women are looking for innovative technology solutions to help empower women to improve their lives, their rights, and their futures. All Imagine Cup 2013 World Finalist teams are eligible to submit their World Finals projects for consideration for this award. Microsoft and UN Women will evaluate submitted projects for relevancy and impact. One first place winning team will receive $12,000 and a runner-up team will receive $8,000.
