             There are a lot of problems caused by the greenhouse effect, such as dramatic climatic changes and the melting of the glaciers, which causes a lot of human life casualties and property loss. Therefore we have come out with a solution, and designed a system, for the purpose to monitor and to ease the current situation of the greenhouse effect.We therefore have decided to create a system that is based on the current gas situation of the environment, so as to treat the environment as a whole unit. This system can collect data by the mobile devices all around the world and save them for reference uses. The system we built has a platform that can enable the public from different parts of the world to share information about their environment. We also hope that other than just monitoring the environment, this system can also have actions regarding any problems in the environment.

            MEN(Mobile Environment-monitoring Network) can be divided into two main components.

 

The first part is the Mobile Environment Surveillance Network(MESN). These are functioning by using a mobile device (such as Pocket PC, UMCP, and Windows Mobile Phone). Readings (conc. Of CO2) would be obtained by these devices and would be sent to the server for processing. Thus the traffic system can monitor and control the amount of CO2 discharged by reducing the traffic flow. It can also start up the underground greenhouse to assist reducing the concentration of CO2.

 

The second part is Environmental Community Network(ECN), which is a platform that allows people from all over the world to upload different topics or problems concerning their environment, and allows governments to check on such topics and act on them immediately so that the issues can be solved faster.

 

      This system consists of the client program, server program and the web page.
