The TVC system is a social community system with the Matching and Feedback mechanisms on the mobile networks. With the TVC system, the volunteer can provide the real-time assistant service to the others needing help by referencing the information on the TVC Web site or by being notified by the mobile device. When someone needs help, he sends the request to the TVC system, and the TVC system responses them by selecting the volunteer (who can provide help to them immediately, efficiently, trustworthily).

The TVC system makes the concept of social community network in the Internet be carried into the real world, especially face-to-face. The TVC system is a complete and mutual trusted platform. As a result, with the TVC system it is no longer a difficult task to help people. Society will be full of warm by people gradually. The wall of trustless between each other will be broken by TVC system. Everyone can easily be a “Tech-Volunteers”.

Question: Inspiration: What inspired your team to enter the Microsoft Imagine Cup and why did you choose the Software Design competition?
Answer: Our enthusiasm to solve the World's toughest problems and the possibility of visiting Egypt inspired us to attend the Imagine Cup. It's really a great opportunity to learn the process of identifying a serious problem, proposing an innovative solution, implementing the solution, and finally recommending our creation to others. The Software Design competition integrates each of these steps very well. Therefore, we decided that Software Design was the best choice for us to realize our idea.

Question: Team History: How did your team meet?
Answer: All team members are from the same lab at National Taiwan University. We all feel interested about the topic and want to create an innovative solution to the World's toughest problem we are facing today. After using our knowledge and creativity, we hope to make contributions to the whole society.

Question: Team Experience: What experience did your team have with Software Design before competing in the Imagine Cup?
Answer: Two members of our team have attended the Software Design competition of Imagine Cup 2008 before, this will help us a lot. With the experience, we can develop our solution and improve it with solidity and more advices. We can also know how to describe and promote our ideas precisely to everyone.

Question: Highlights: What has been the best part of the Imagine Cup competition to date?
Answer: In the process of preparing the competition, we have learned how to cooperate with our teammates. When we came up with some ideas after the brainstorming, it just felt good. At the local competition, we competed with other teams from different schools, all teams had creative ideas and excellent presentations, and we also exchanged our thought with other competitors at that time. These gave us a lot of experiences and broadened our point of view. Finally, we won't forget how excited and honored we were when we won the local final in Taiwan.

Question: Inspiration: How did your team come up with your submission? Include which Millennium Development Goal inspired your solution.
Answer: The United Nations has identified some of the hardest challenges in the world today in its Millennium Development Goals. This year, the Imagine Cup uses these ambitious challenges as a guiding light to inspire change all over the world. Most of these challenges mainly focus on how to help the disadvantaged people. According to our observation, there are a lot of disadvantaged groups who need helps in their ordinary life, but their helping voice usually cannot be heard. In our society, there exists a group of people who help others (who need help) without feedback. They are willing to contribute their effort to the society. They not only help the disadvantaged groups but also help you and me. They are the so-called “Volunteers”. However, people are usually restricted by many factors such as fear so that they cannot action like the volunteer to devote their compassion, kindness and benevolence to the cool world. Imagine that if the people’s benevolence becomes the real actions anywhere and anytime for people who need help, you and I are not strangers, but volunteers. We are living in a wonderful world. Based on this inspiration, in this project, we develop the Trusted Volunteer Community (TVC) system to tight you and me as a Big Volunteer Group to help people needing help anyplace and any time.

Question: Challenges: What personal or technological challenges did your team face while developing your submission?
Answer: While developing our system, the biggest problem that we encountered was the real demand by volunteers and the disadvantaged people. If we can understand what they need, the system can become meaningful, helpful and practical for both volunteers and disadvantaged people. Therefore, we visited many experts for their professional advices. We also participated the volunteer service in person to understand what the people who need help want in depth. Through these efforts, we developed the TVC system.

Question: Future Plans: What does your team plan on doing after the Worldwide Finals in Cairo, Egypt? Do you plan to use your project to launch a new business?
Answer: After the worldwide finals, we will continuously discover the needs of the disadvantaged people in the society to let our system become more and more complete. Furthermore, we will consider launching a new business as the social enterprise. It’s still a long road for us to go.
