Consider it as a new comer asking those that have an experience.
I had tried an entry last year just to get a feel. I wasn't serious that time, but this time I plan to be. Any of the top 30s could answer this:
1) Do we need to use Microsoft technologies in the making? Or ar we free to use flash, after effects, 3ds max and other professional softwares? If not please suggest some MS ones.
2) Does the film necessarily has to animation? Or is animation preferred or something?
3) After I submitted it last year, I left it as it is. I got nothing from them except for that I was out. Do we need publicity? If yes then where to do it? Is there something regional here - Some regional sites or something where people where you have to submit and participate? Is the submission to the main site enough.
4) Does the storyboard involve camera angles and all or is it just a rough idea. In case of a real movie, i can't give clippings unless I make it. So are the storyboards to be made after the movie? And Are changes allowed.
5) Something specific that his competition has -some tystes that are favoured? What is actually being tested I mean? All have points I know but is the main thing the story and the acting/ animation or the effects. We plan movies for the field, I mean if it has story, well ave themes that are based onit and if it is teeffects, then we'll try out themes that have spaces for effects.
6) I also rquest for someone to mentor me and my friends. We are interested, can spare lots of time for this, but we have to have the right direction. I am in Patiala, India but I don't feel that a regional mentor is something necessary. i am glad enough to have voice chats and frequent aids. All i want is someone to direct it from the prspective of this specific competition. Our movies have been among the best overall out here but they are general, wha we think, we make. I need specific help.
