    XNA Game Studio 3.0

    Hi,

Just reading the description for the Game Dev invitational, and it says we must use XNA Game Studio 3.0. However, only the CTP for version 3.0 is out, and it does not currently support developing for the 360.

I'm wondering whether anyone knows if the final version of 3.0 (with 360 support) will be out by the time the invitational starts, and if not, are we allowed to use 2.0?

http://imaginecup.com/competition/overview.aspx <-- In the game development section, it says to use XNA game studio 3.0.

From various websites (easiest is wikipedia) it says 3.0 CTP is out, however, that is a preview for the full version, and does not support the 360 yet.

But it runs on Windows. Why do you worry about 360?

I assume by run on windows, you mean you can make games for windows (I hope you did not think I meant I would be coding on 360.......). I'm interested in seeing what it is like developing for a console rather than a PC, that is why I want 360 support.

its not the big deal......just make the central code(classes, shaders, making 3d models, adding tecniques) then use arrowns and buttons to simulate de xbox control, and when 3.0 is released add the xbox controls code.... :D good luck

    http://imaginecup.com/Competition/mycompetitionportal.aspx?competitionId=21

The above  invitation page heading says :

The object of the Game Development competition is to create a new game that uses both Microsoft's XNA Game Studio 3.0 and Visual Studio.

    However futher below it says:

    Round 1

I wonder if this is confusing to anyone else?

From what I can tell, that just means that we are to develop our round 1 entry with 2.0, and our round 2 entry with 3.0 (3.0 should be out by then)
