In Imagine Cup 2008 the 2008 Unlimited Potential Rural Innovation Award was designed to recognize the Worldwide Software Design Invitational finalist solution that and best impacts the social and economic growth of underserved populations in developing countries and/or best helps these populations better meet their basic needs, while contributing toward a more sustainable environment.
By tapping the vibrant creativity of university students from all over the world to explore the role technology can play in development for rural and underserved populations, the Unlimited Potential Rural Innovation Award underscores Microsoft’s commitment to creating relevant, accessible and affordable technologies for the next 5 billion people to help bridge the digital divide.
